I wanted to share a few pictures of my home to give you an idea of my decor style.  I don’t know that I fall into any one specific category in terms of decorating, but there are a few common themes.

I really like light, bright spaces. They make me feel happy and comfortable. Natural light is an absolute must and a bonus in this house as there are lots of windows throughout!

I also like adding a touch of the feminine to our home.  Three males live in this house, but I think it is the feminine touches that give our home warmth.

The laundry room and command central!  The chandeliers and rug are perfect examples of the girly touches in our home. (I will do another post on my AWESOME laundry room at a later date- it is one of my favorite spaces ).

Finally, I think a home should be comfortable and cozy which doesn’t always mean it will look like a magazine spread!

This is our family room.  The place where we gather with friends or to watch some TV.  Note the TV sitting on the built-in.  Definitely not magazine worthy!  We considered placing the TV over the mantle, but it seemed a little high to watch without craning your neck

At first I regretted that the fireplace hearth was raised, taking away the option to hang the TV above the mantle.  However, now that winter has arrived and we are burning cozy fires in the fireplace (instead of using it as a plant stand), I realize I love the raised hearth.  It gives us a wonderful view of the fire burning as well as extra seating when we have company.

So there you have a mini-tour of some of the spaces in my home.  I will share some more another time.  Hope you enjoyed the peek into my home and will come back again and see what I’ve been up to!
