Yes, I know it is Saturday! However, I am planning on doing a weekly feature called Friday’s Fabulous Find. In it, I will detail an awesome find, deal, purchase, etc… that I found that week. I am a bargain hunter to the extreme and love scoring a great deal whether it be something for the home, fashion finds for myself or my family, or even just deals and steals on everyday items. One of my absolute favorite places to shop for these Fabulous Finds is Home Goods/ Marshall’s and/or TJMaxx. This week I happened upon a lovely galvanized metal tray table at Home Goods.

My first thought was that it would work in my family room as an extra place to set a lamp and/or set down a drink. The fireplace and built in bookshelf wall in that room are dark in the evening and the only lights available are overhead pot lights, which are not ideal for tv viewing. I tried the tray in this room, but it was a little too tall and stuck out from the wall too far to be ideal for the space. Darn! But I really loved the tray with its cool moroccan shape and metal color, so I tried her out in several other places until I settled upon a corner of the dining area in my kitchen.

Isn’t the color so nice in there with the light blue walls and grey curtains? I figure this tray can serve as a decorative piece for now, but during a dinner party, would be a nice place to set extra dishes. Also, I can’t wait until it warms up a bit and then it can serve as a drink stand for all the thirsty kids coming in and out. I can also envision this tray being very handy outdoors once grilling season starts up again. Or for the fixings for s’mores out by the outdoor fireplace. So, for now I am holding onto this beauty and using it to pretty up a plain corner of the dining room.

Here she is all prettied up with a blue wooden tray filled with burlap and moss balls and a lovely little metal butterfly I found at a garden shop last week. It looks pretty for spring and I know we will find lots of uses for the tray in the coming months. Don’t you just love it when you find a great deal?

Great job explaining what you did and the pictures were really great. Keep up the the awesome job
